It's rough, to put things lightly, when Wash actually shows up. Anticipating his arrival had been challenging enough, but actually seeing him again? Even in his different armour and with his helmet still on? It's so much harder. And then Carolina's gone and Wash is pulling his helmet off and shit, York isn't sure how to react.

It's been way too long. And he hates that he'd had to make the guy think he was dead. But he hadn't had much of a choice...

"Yeah, man." He nods once, his own words coming out on a breath. It fucking hurts hearing Wash's voice like that. There's a moment of hesitation, but soon enough, York's hands are reaching up and tugging his own helmet off, too. Weakly, he offers a half-smile, his good eye searching the other man's face for a moment. "'S good to see you."
